Pouncing Jaguar on Flickr.

This is the Pouncing Jaguar figure from an SS Jaguar seen at Beeliegh Abbey in Maldon.

‘Bought for the princely sum of £15 back in 1963, this SS Jaguar 1½-litre drop-head coupe was Peter Pearson’s first car. Some 48 years later, he still owns it and his passion for it is as strong as ever’

Boat Cat - Maldon on Flickr.

Lovely photo of a black cat sitting on a rusty old boat in Maldon, Essex.

Shot with my 14-140mm Lumix walkabout lens. Post processed in Adobe Lightroom to crop and increase the clarity, contrast and sharpness.

Flashgun - Yong Nuo 460ii Speedlight

I decided I needed a proper external flash gun to use indoors in low lighting and for Strobist work (using speedlights as light modifiers and studio lighting).

After a lot of research I decided on a Yong Nuo 460ii, it was cheap at only £30 from Ebay, has quick recycle times and is fully manual. It has a fully rotating head so is ideal for bouncing light off of ceilings when in low lighting conditions indoors and where you have a nice white surface. A white wall nearby will also work where ceilings are too high, coloured or uneven.

I wouldn’t be without it now and have captured many photo’s which would have been impossible otherwise. One downside is that the flash is quite large on my Lumix G3 Micro Four Thirds camera (not far off the size of the camera), but it is still very usable and lightweight.

Boat out of time on Flickr.

I have not post processed many of my photo’s into Black and White as I like to preserve the colour and enjoy punchy coulourful photo’s. However it suited this shot well, highlights the reflections and gives a historic feel to the scene.
